Now that your initial consultation has been successfully completed, I would like to welcome you to the Hamilton Recruitment service. As your sole agent, we will explore opportunities for you in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and/or elsewhere in line with your preferences in terms of type of role, location, start date and salary requirements.

How it works from here

From your online application and having conducted our telephone screening interview, we have a very good idea as to your background and what type of openings will be relevant to you.

We will now begin the process of securing you a job offshore by sending you details of current or expected forthcoming vacancies. (And don't worry, we won't waste your time by sending you details of jobs for which you are not suitable or eligible.) We will also make direct enquiries with companies that we think may be of interest to you.

To serve you best, when you receive such job details please get back to us confirming your interest or otherwise as quickly as possible. There are generally more candidates than vacancies on the Islands and things often move fast. If you take your time replying, you'll probably find the job has already been taken. We will work with you too to strengthen your CV so that you're more likely to be invited to an interview.

What we expect from you

All that we require in return is that you keep us fully and promptly informed of any changes to your wishes or circumstances, including any direct contact established independently with offshore firms.

And do remember that - unless agreed otherwise in exceptional circumstances - you have asked us to represent you on the mutual understanding and agreement that Hamilton Recruitment is your sole agent for Island jobs. Like yours, our time is valuable and the courtesy of keeping us "in the loop" will ensure that we're able to serve everyone as effectively as possible. So do keep us informed.

What happens next

Once we have got your approval to formally apply* and an employer has indicated interest in a preliminary telephone (or in-person) interview, we will be in touch to schedule a mutually convenient time for your interview.

We recommend you prepare thoroughly before an interview: for example on the company/industry, the Island, and reasons why you'd be a safe pair of hands who could "add value" to your prospective future employer. You're not on your own. Using our experience, we will point you in the right direction so that you can present yourself in the most favourable light.

Making it happen

Interview preparation is key. Being qualified is not enough on its own to get a job offer - there's too much competition. The better prepared you are, the better your prospects of getting what you want. Don't worry though. We're here to help.

A word about timing

If you are interested in financial services Audit Senior roles, note that these start around October. We begin our screening for high-calibre professionals extremely early (from January) and recommend suitable candidates to firms just as soon as we can. Please be aware, however, that many firms do not start their own interview processes until April, May or later so do bear with us if it seems that you have to wait some months for a direct interview. It's normal and you haven't been forgotten. We'll get you there so try to be patient.
