As a Corporate Administrator, you will work towards ensuring adherence to the best governance practices.

You will usually have responsibilities connected to administration, record-keeping and compliance for your portfolio of client companies.

Many companies that are incorporated in offshore jurisdictions – like Bermuda, the BVI, Cayman or the Channel Islands – are investment holding/dealing companies that own or control investments across the globe.

Such offshore companies are either registered and managed by specialist company managers or in the corporate administration departments of Offshore Magic Circle or smaller local law firms.

Corporate administration departments typically provide a range of services including:

  • Legally registering each company in the relevant offshore jurisdiction
  • Providing an official address for the registered office
  • Providing both Director and Company Secretary services to control the activities of the company
  • General administration and record keeping, such as minutes of Board meetings
  • Maintaining up-to-date accounts

Candidate requirements

To be successful, you’ll generally need to meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates qualified for more senior roles will usually hold the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) designation
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ relevant experience in corporate, trust or legal fields
  • You must be a team player, be able to work to tight deadlines and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exposure to industry-specific software is an advantage

The lifestyle on offer is also genuinely first class. The Caribbean corporate culturemeans that the professional environment is friendly, supportive and welcoming, whilst the fact that the Islands are famous tourist destinations means that 10 minutes after leaving the office you can be at the beach or playing golf or tennis.
