Medical certification

As part of your work permit application, you are likely to have to obtain a medical certification on your state of health.

There is no specified format for the medical certification. Aside from any specifically requested information or tests, all you need is a short letter – just a few sentences will suffice - from your doctor confirming that you appear to be in good general health and are free from communicable diseases.

An example from a recent work permit application which was successfully accepted by the Bermuda immigration authorities is as follows:

Re: Your Name (X), Date of Birth & Address 

This is to certify that X is physically fit and healthy, and free from communicable diseases.

X has a normal blood pressure, urine analysis and chest X-ray results.

X is on no medication and does not smoke.
